Has God Abandoned the United States of America?[i]
by Cathy Richardson, Co-Founder South Orange County 912
I don’t want to believe it, but my conclusion is the sooner we KNOW that He has and stop sugar-coating this fact with quips like “He’s still on the throne” and a myriad of others, the better off we will be. Mainly because, we will then know how to fight and where to put our energies in order to win![ii]
God has abandoned America as a nation[iii] because as a nation we voted against righteousness and have been for quite a while. We voted to kill babies and voted to impose immoral debt upon future generations, and all those other things in between and around those two concepts. In other words, as a nation we promote wickedness or Satan’s agenda to kill, steal and destroy.[iv]
As a nation we’ve allowed ourselves to be deceived, believing in social justice, environmental justice, etc. or the redistribution of all things. We also allowed ourselves to be deceived, believing in diversity or those things which divide us. Class warfare and ethnic warfare along with special interests promote pride, jealousy, blame and unforgiveness or simply hatred.
The concept of redistribution necessarily means the “pie” of wealth or resources is limited, needing to be divided (redistributed) among an ever-increasing population providing each person with less and less rather than understanding the true nature of things — that wealth and resources are unlimited and can be created.
These changes in perception and attitude which are so deeply entrenched in our nation at every bastion of hope (checks and balances in government, the bill of rights, institutions of education, the media as our watchdog, even some think tanks, institutions of medicine, science etc.) has resulted in great human suffering.
As a nation, God cannot and will not raise his arm[v] to protect or bless us as a nation if we are adamant in producing or continue to produce great human suffering.[vi] It goes against his identity. He will, however, protect and bless us as a nation when we return to Him as a nation or when His people “who are called by my name humble themselves . . . .”[vii]
We must strive above all else to put the first four commandments front and center as a nation!
[i] This essay is mainly written for believers (including those believers that voted for Obama) and those Christians and Jews not fully convinced or conservatives truly desiring liberty. It is not necessarily written for atheists or progressives who just want to criticize or resort to being a bully. Therefore, you need not comment.
[ii] To believe that we can win without God and his principles to lead us is to be arrogant and prideful. Isaiah 9:9-10. “. . . who say with pride and arrogance of heart, 10 ‘The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.’”
[iii] Please don’t misunderstand me. God will never abandon those who are called His children. I’m addressing the nation of America as a whole in this essay.
[iv] By the way, to kill, steal and destroy are not too dissimilar to the tenets of the pseudo religion of Islam.
[v] Although it states in Isaiah 9 and 10 in several places that “Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised,” what God speaks of here is his covenant promise with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in old testament times and his new testament covenant promise of redemption and salvation for the individual.
[vi] As Isaiah 9: 13 – 17 states: “13 But the people have not returned to him . . . Therefore the Lord will take no pleasure in the young men, nor will he pity the fatherless and widows . . . .” Worth reading all of Isaiah 9 and 10.
[vii] 2 Chronicles 7:14. “. . .if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
