In many ways, Cruz did much better on Super Saturday than he did on Super Tuesday! He not only defeated Donald in two of the four state contests last night, but he outmatched him in delegates earned and essentially tied for first in the other two states: Louisiana and Kentucky.
CRUZ CRUSHES TRUMP IN KANSAS BY 25%!
Cruz’s huge victory in the Caucus state of Kansas was the biggest margin of any contest that he’s won so far, even bigger than his home state victory in Texas last Tuesday! Cruz crushed Donald in Kansas by a whopping 25% and he earned, as of this morning, a total of 24 delegates out of the Sunflower State.
It was reported that there was such a large turn-out in Kansas that state officials ran out of ballot forms, forcing precinct workers to actually make emergency trips to Kinkos to print more ballots!
Once again, just like we saw in Iowa and in Oklahoma, the pubic polling in Kansas was completely off and it appeared Cruz’s internal polling was far more accurate. According to the polls, Cruz was projected to lose in Kansas by as much as 12 points and another poll taken just a few days ago had him losing by 6!
We’ve seen in three states so far where Cruz has won, that for some reason, the actual results don’t reflect what the polling showed. This also further illustrates why polls can’t be relied on too heavily!
CRUZ MASTERS IT IN MAINE, BEATING TRUMP BY 13%!
I think Maine, in many respects, was the real shocker of the evening! Here is a northeastern liberal blue state that Ted Cruz hardly campaigned in or spent any resources competing in. Yet he won the New England state by over 10 points against Trump!
The Maine victory proves that Cruz’s appeal goes far beyond what many of the pundits claim. We are constantly told that Cruz can only win with white Evangelicals. By demonstrating that he can appeal to northeastern Republicans, who tend to be more liberal, Cruz can factually make the claim that his base of support is much broader than the media thinks, which is also a good sign for his chances in the general election!
Another indication that Cruz was the big winner last night, was how close he came to winning all four contests and having a clean sweep!
In the two contests that he did lose to Donald Trump, Kentucky and Louisiana, he came within 3 points in one and four in the other!
Trump only bested Cruz in Cajun country by 3 percent – 41% to 38%! In Kentucky, Trump had 36% compared to Cruz’s 32%! What surprised many of the experts in Louisiana was Cruz’s phenomenal get out the vote effort and his excellent ground game operation, which many credit as the key to closing the gap in the final hours, almost beating Trump!
There was also some evidence that voter attitudes toward some of the candidates in Louisiana had shifted on election day.
Overall, Cruz was no doubt the big winner last night! Daniel Horowitz from Conservative Review estimates that Cruz had a bigger net gain of delegates earned compared to Trump. Read below!
Cruz earned 71 delegates last night to Trump’s 60 and Rubio, who continued his losing streak and would be wise to drop out the race immediately, earned only 14 delegates total! I’ve pasted the final tally below!
The two main take-aways from last night are: First, It appears that we could be witnessing the beginnings of a major shift in this race seeing that Carson’s departure is helping Cruz and Carson’s supporters seem to be coalescing behind the only conservative choice in this race in a big way!
Another major takeaway from last night was a reconfirmation that Rubio needs to drop out immediately! It is way beyond obvious at this point that Rubio is being nothing but a spoiler in this race and he will likely not win his home state in two weeks!
His pathetic showing last night only strengthens the case for him to exit this race and to encourage his supporters to get behind Cruz!
According to Real Clear Politics, there is now a whopping 172 delegate gap between Rubio and Cruz! Rubio’s deficit in the delegate count is so significant that even if he were to pull off a win in his home state on the 15th, which is extremely unlikely, he still would be far behind Cruz and Trump in delegates and would still in no way have a viable path to the nomination!
In short, Rubio needs to go and hopefully his donors and advisers are being honest with him about his dismal chances! It should be obvious to everyone in the Rubio camp that the wisest next step would be for Rubio to end his candidacy!
The only thing that seems to be keeping this guy in the race is his enormous ego! If Rubio doesn’t have the clarity of judgement to know when it’s time to exit, then this is certainly not someone that we want in the White House!
Cruz’s total delegates are at 300 and the fraudulent candidate in this race has only 82 more! Rubio again has only 128 delegates total! Kasich is at the bottom with only 38 delegates.
It was a good night for Cruz last night and I think it’s fair to say that the media can longer claim that Donald has a clear and open path to the nomination!
At this point, with only 80 delegates now separating the two, Cruz has just as much of a chance of clinchng this nomination as the fraudulent candidate in this race! TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT! Read below and please share with others!
