We have a great evening planned!  Please RSVP today and invite your fellow conservative friends and neighbors.  Of course, we’ll take a liberal or two, but all the moderates and uninvolved you can muster!!!

Our speakers:

Ellen Addonizio, currently a Board of Trustee of the Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD). She is one of two conservatives on the Board; the three others vote along with the teachers’ union. The Board is mainly concerned with the financial issues of CUSD. (Ellen is a CPA by trade.) Inability to keep up financially with the perks, pay raises, and high wages of the school employees are causing record deficits. These deficits which are larger every year exasperated by CA’s failing economy are pitting the teachers unions and the Board against each other.  While the conservatives on the Board want to try to save the jobs of the teachers for the benefit of the children and students, the teachers unions are naturally desiring to save their salaries and perks even if it means to reduce the number of teachers or reduce the number of instruction days.

Bill Perkins, candidate for CUSD Board for Area 5 (Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel), will introduce himself to us and they us why he has decided to run.  He would be a conservative on the Board and will fight for solutions for the best education possible for students of CUSD.

This is an important local issue we need to become more aware of and involved in.  We are still looking for candidates in the Capistrano Beach, San Clemente areas.  Do you know anyone willing to serve?  (pay = $750 per month)

Robert Hammond, newly elected to the Orange County Board of Education, Area 1. “Money must go to our schools to benefit our children – not wasteful bureaucracy. There must be complete accountability with taxpayer dollars. We need to end rubber stamping of spending proposals and ensure that only necessary expenses to benefit Orange County’s students are approved.”

Don Jans, author of “My Grandchildren’s America,” will discuss with us the Marxist turn of America and what he sees happening to our beloved nation. His book (thoroughly researched and will be available for purchase) and talks are well received and highly recommended.  For more information:  www.mygrandchildrensamerica.com.

Reports on the recent City Council meetings of the City of Mission Viejo and the City of Laguna Hills will also be presented.  Mission Viejo is currently discussing installing seven huge electronic signs along the Kaleidoscope center off of Crown Valley.  Most residents are against the idea while most councilmembers are in favor of them. Laguna Hills seems to be dealing with a authoritative Mayor.

We will be raffling off Glenn Beck’s new book, COWARDS!

We hope you will join us.  Thank you for your participation and involvement.  Come meet and interact with other conservatives.

The Chaplain Michael Band will entertain us with good ‘ol USA music.  Of course, after the meeting we will enjoy Roberta’s specialty refreshments!
